About Us

Wells Fargo provides middle market, large corporate and financial institution customers with a range of international solutions, including treasury management, credit, payments, financing, foreign exchange, and trade services. Wells Fargo operates from 42 countries and territories outside of the U.S., including branches in Beijing, Cayman Islands, Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), Hong Kong, London, Seoul.

Main Function of the Role

This role is to Manage the Operations Teams in the WFS France Office. The Operations Team will consist of several small Teams. These Teams include Middle Office, Transaction Reporting and Client On-Boarding. Products covered are securities only across Credit, Rates, ABF and Equities. The role requires making sure all activity is booked in a timely manner, performing trade enrichment where needed and making sure we are ready for good settlement. The role also includes producing daily risk and P&L reports for the Traders. The role also includes making sure all appropriate activity is reported to the local regulators in a timely manner and that the Client on-boarding process runs smoothly and all new accounts are created to agreed SLA’s. The role also includes working with Technology, Middle Offices and Operations Teams globally around any projects and process improvements. As Heads of Operations you will be the first point of contact around key issues for the Team.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leader responsibilities.
  • Trade and position verification for Credit, Rates, ABF and Equity traders.
  • Monitoring all trade queries and position breaks.
  • Intra-day Risk and P&L reporting, investigation of discrepancies between reported and posted P&L.
  • Managing the Client on-boarding workload.
  • Managing the Transaction Reporting responsibilities for the French entity.
  • C&C reviews and remediation.
  • Ownership of the Middle Office and Operations Book of works.
  • Fails Mgmt - Working closely with Front Office and Settlements around any Failed trades or issues.
  • Working close with Product Control around any P&L discrepancies.
  • Working with the Transaction Reporting Team around any issues.
  • Continuously reviewing the Control environment for gaps or issues.
  • Quarterly sign off on the group’s procedures and daily sign off checklists.
  • Collaborating globally to ensure alignment of procedures and processes.
  • Following the escalation protocol.
  • Operations Risk write ups.
  • Setting Teams goals and objectives.
  • Performing individual MY and EOY reviews.
  • Project work.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Good communication skills. (French and English speaking)
  • 7-10 years experience in a Middle Office environment, 3-5 years experience as a manager.
  • A good understanding of life cycle knowledge of Cash Securities.
  • Good Settlement knowledge across DTC, Fed, E/C and Clearstream.
  • Good knowledge of Risk and P&L computation methodologies.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel with VBA experience.
  • Strong Analytical with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, be deadline oriented and be productive under pressure.
  • Experience of working with colleagues based in multiple locations globally.
