My client is a leading profitable, global quantitative trading firm with entrepreneurial culture. They are looking for an experienced accounting professional to join their growing regional finance team based in their Hong Kong office.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be in an integral part of the Hong Kong accounting team but also contribute to the overall global accounting function.  You will assist in the month-end close process and maintenance of the company’s internal books and records. This includes the preparation of various accounting reconciliations and financial schedules that support the preparation of the financial statements. You will assist team members in their collaboration with outside auditors and advisors on accounting policy decisions and GAAP/IFRS interpretations. Your proactive approach in a fast-paced environment will be instrumental for success. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and time management will contribute to success in this role.

You must have:

  • 7 to 12 years’ experience in an accounting background preferbly from private experience  i.e. top tier investment banks, hedge funds, high quantitative trading firms
  • In-depth knowledge of Equities, Fixed Income products
  • In-depth knowledge of HKFRS/IFRS – other GAAP knowledge, such as US GAAP and PRC GAAP, a plus
  • Very strong communication skills both verbal and written in English
  • Ability to produce timely and accurate records, with an emphasis on the importance of supporting work paper documentation
  • Excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Motivated to continuously challenge and improve processes
  • Team player and collaborative nature
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
