Analyst/Associate, Sales Assistant – Greater China

Job Description:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior sales in a wide range of daily ad-hoc tasks and providing back up coverage duties, including pre-trade quote, live trade bidding, trade execution, post-trade follow-up, market analysis, client ad-hoc inquiries, etc.;
  • Perform administration duties in variation of client onboarding, legal documentation process, credit limit simulation and approval, trade execution, market recaps, budget control and maintenance, etc.;
  • Sales Team coordinator to liaise with Structurers, Pricing Engineers, Legal team to ensure pre-trade pricing and documentation accuracy; and Front to Back Office teams for post trade processing and settlement follow-up.
  • Maintain Client relationship in search for business opportunities.
  • Meet Operational Objectives in terms of assisting Senior Sales to achieve sales revenue budget and grow the wallet share with tier clients, Cooperation mindset across sales team. Learn from Senior Sales about strategic client coverage, sales intensity, deal origination and pipeline.
  • Meet Professional Behavioural Development Objectives in terms of setting high standards of performance and behaviour, ensuring strong culture on client focus, team spirit, innovation, commitment and responsibility/accountability.
  • Scope: Financial Institutions and Retail Banking across the Greater China region.
  • Products: Cross-asset structure products for Greater China distribution.
  • Product and Market Knowledge: Possess, develop and enhance a strong technical knowledge of Structure products and product features, trading standards, and market dynamics. Develop a Market Advisory approach with relative value analysis and trade idea generation in close interaction with Trading, Structuring and Greater China Sales Team.
  • Dealing Procedures:

- Execute client orders in accordance with SG Guideline from pre-trade to post-trade requirements (with Sales handbook and proceeding announcements as reference)
- Pre-trade coordination: KYC On-boarding process, product suitability check, iFlow/iForce credit limit check and validation of supporting legal documents (ISDA, CSA, GMRA, Termsheet, Confirmation), Marketing documents Review, Margin Policies check
- Trade Execution: client confirmation, timely input booking, credit limit/settlement approval, documentation completion
- Post Trade coordination: Settlement instructions cooperating with Client Support Team, Back Office; setup product secondary market; ensure MtM timely delivery on client reporting
- Secondary Market Service: Check MtM volatility and accuracy upon client requests, unwind quote and execution.

  • Sales Talent and effort: Ensure coverage of sufficient client intensity, prospect potential clients and expand existing client exposure, identify client needs and enter regular and permanent relationship to promote SG capacities.
  • Teamwork: Work closely and back-up GRC Sales Team to ensure business continuity, ensure strong Sales & internal sponsors alignments, develop dialogue with regional-wise or even global-wise sales team to facilitate information sharing and foster cross selling.
  • Market Intelligence: Understand product mandate and client interest. Feedback market competition to management, trading, engineering to improve the capabilities of our platform.
  • Compliance:

- External: Develop strong understand Onshore/Offshore regulations of Greater China markets, with major focus on Taiwan market
- Internal: Comply with Sales Handbook and internal guidelines from Legal and Compliance departments, perform appropriate trade-relating actions (such as legal documentation, SG internal execution and trading standards, margin policy, CVA, timely and appropriate booking of transactions, pre- and final confirmation), Administration-wise comply with entertainment policy in GIFT and always report/escalate all operational or external incidents to management, COO or Compliance.



  • Ability to work with multiple functional teams and multi-task in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
  • Project management & communication skills in a culturally-diverse environment
  • Knowledge in cross-asset structured products, ideally with exposure to the Taiwan market
  • 1-3 years of directly relevant experience at an international financial institution
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics or related disciplines
  • Strong command of English is mandatory and fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is highly preferred
