Assistant Vice President, Planning and Finance

Job Responsibilities:
Accounting and Financial control
- Formulate and maintain the Bank’s accounting policies in compliance with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Review and update the general ledger (GL) posting rules to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Act as key point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing supporting documents and responding to audit queries in a timely manner.
Management reporting and budgeting
- Prepare monthly management reports.
- Support the annual budget and forecast preparation, including data compilation, variance analysis and monitoring against targets.
- Prepare and validate financial reports for submission to Head Office, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to reporting deadlines.
Expense Management
- Supervise accounts payable function, including invoice processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Review and update the Bank’s expense control policies.
System Project Management
- Participate in system development and enhancement projects, providing input on accounting rules and requirements for new/ existing banking products.
- Support the business team by assessing the accounting and financial implications of new products, business initiatives and projects, and providing relevant forecasts and analysis.
Taxation
- Prepare for tax calculation and tax filings, and liaise with tax consultants to ensure full compliance of tax regulations.
Ad-hoc duties
- Handle ad-hoc duties from Head Office, management or supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Degree holder or above in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in the banking or financial services industry, with hands-on exposure to financial reporting, taxation, audit and budget processes
- CPA / ACCA / HKICPA qualified
- Solid knowledge of HKFRS, Hong Kong tax regulations and banking regulatory requirements
- Detail-minded, self-motivated with strong analytical and problem solving skills, willing to work under pressure with minimum supervision
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- Good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Well-versed in computerized accounting system and reporting tools
- Proficient in MS Office applications, e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint
