Assistant Vice President, Planning and Finance

Job Responsibilities:

Accounting and Financial control

  1. Formulate and maintain the Bank’s accounting policies in compliance with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and relevant regulatory requirements.
  2. Review and update the general ledger (GL) posting rules to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  3. Act as key point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing supporting documents and responding to audit queries in a timely manner.

Management reporting and budgeting

  1. Prepare monthly management reports.
  2. Support the annual budget and forecast preparation, including data compilation, variance analysis and monitoring against targets.
  3. Prepare and validate financial reports for submission to Head Office, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to reporting deadlines.

Expense Management

  1. Supervise accounts payable function, including invoice processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  2. Review and update the Bank’s expense control policies.

System Project Management

  1. Participate in system development and enhancement projects, providing input on accounting rules and requirements for new/ existing banking products.
  2. Support the business team by assessing the accounting and financial implications of new products, business initiatives and projects, and providing relevant forecasts and analysis.

Taxation

  1. Prepare for tax calculation and tax filings, and liaise with tax consultants to ensure full compliance of tax regulations.

Ad-hoc duties

  1. Handle ad-hoc duties from Head Office, management or supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  1. Degree holder or above in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in the banking or financial services industry, with hands-on exposure to financial reporting, taxation, audit and budget processes
  3. CPA / ACCA / HKICPA qualified
  4. Solid knowledge of HKFRS, Hong Kong tax regulations and banking regulatory requirements
  5. Detail-minded, self-motivated with strong analytical and problem solving skills, willing to work under pressure with minimum supervision
  6. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
  7. Good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  8. Well-versed in computerized accounting system and reporting tools
  9. Proficient in MS Office applications, e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint
