Nomura is now hiring Associate -Financial Control & Reporting (FC&R) - Hong Kong

The Financial Control & Reporting team is responsible for maintaining a proper accounting and internal control system in compliance with the Regulatory Authorities, accounting standards and the Nomura's policies and procedures. The team provides accurate, timely and reliable financial reporting to authorities, shareholders and management.
•Manage the Financial & Regulatory Reporting for Nomura International (Hong Kong) Ltd (NIHK), both under HK GAAP and US GAAP reporting. NIHK is a core employing entity for Nomura Asia Ex-Japan and provides a range of services across Global Market, Investment Banking and Wealth Management. NIHK is licensed by the Securities & Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC).
•Prepare the Financial Statements for NIHK to cater to Statutory Audit requirements and drive accounting and auditing procedures. Liaise with Global Auditor (EY) to ensure completeness of Annual Audit requirements.
•Support and build the procedures for new accounting requirements in line with IFRS, for example IFRS 16, IFRS 9 and IFRS 15.
•Document standard operating procedures for any new or changed processes within the FC&R function.
•Work closely with the Nomura India (Powai) Centre of Excellence and other colleagues. Recommend procedures and best practices to enhance the efficiencies of Nomura India team.
•Provide support to NIHK management reporting by creating monthly presentation and recommend opportunities for optimization in cost and resources.
•Represent FC&R across local and global initiatives.
Key Experience & Skills
•5 to 8 years’ working experience, preferably with Banks, Financial Institutions or Big Four Accounting Firms;
•Strong academic background preferably with a bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance;
•Good analytical and communications skills, excellent problem solving ability, and ability to work with various groups;
•Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities;
•Strong self-starter, pro-active and team player;
•Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
