As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate Director, Fixed Income and Markets .

Principal responsibilities

  • Supports line manager and the Head of Regulatory Compliance, Global Markets Asia Pacific in independently providing Regulatory Compliance advice and challenge to the Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income trading businesses.
  • The role will assist the Regulatory Compliance Heads in the development, deployment and continued oversight of globally consistent RC policy for the Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income trading business units and ensure that all businesses understand and adhere to external regulatory requirements, codes of conduct and internal policies.
  • Work directly with the Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income trading businesses to make sure that as a business any new products or services are aligned to the HSBC Global Standards framework and meet all the necessary Regulatory Compliance requirements.
  • Providing guidance on policies and standards to cover regulatory compliance issues
  • Advising line management of the impact on their businesses and functions of applicable external or internal regulations
  • Supporting line management in discharging their responsibilities to comply with applicable
  • Assisting line management in the conduct of crisis management
  • Providing an independent reporting mechanism for all executives
  • Fostering good relations with the regulators


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income products, trading practices and related regulatory and conduct risks
  • Good knowledge of Hong Kong and international regulations related to Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income markets
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player
  • Experience of working for a large international institution preferred.
  • Previous team management experience will be preferred.
