We are a global profession services firm and is experiencing strong organic growth in Asia. Thus we are now seeking an experienced Compliance professional to act as the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer to ensure that local business and operations comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies and standards and for liaising with the Hong Kong Companies Registry (“CRA”) in respect of regulatory issues.


  • Oversight of local Compliance functions in Hong Kong.  Ensure sufficient resources and training are in place to successfully discharge the objectives of the functions
  • Acting as the Compliance Officer for our operating entities with overall responsibility for the establishment and maintenance of the licensee’s AML/CTF systems as part of the TCSP license requirement
  • Liaising with the CRA and other relevant bodies as might reasonably be required;
  • Interpreting and disseminating information about regulatory changes, and adapting procedures, documents, and compliance tools to accommodate these rule changes;
  • Ensuring compliance with the regulatory legislation and guidance notes and that regulated entities comply with any conditions imposed on licensees;
  • Lead a team to provide consultative advice to the business on Compliance related issues
  • Provide guidance and coaching to the HK (and offshore) compliance team and design/deliver compliance training to staff of relevant business and support units
  • Undertaking periodic compliance monitoring on the basis of a risk-based compliance monitoring programme as devised by Group Compliance and making recommendations for improvements in the manner in which compliance is achieved;
  • Perform Group Risk and Compliance business risk assessment
  • Exercise due skill, care and diligence, observe proper standards of market conduct and deal with any regulators or other relevant stakeholders in an open and co-operative way (as may be required)


  • Degree or professional qualification in Compliance, Law, Audit, or related relevant discipline
  • Minimum 7-10 years of compliance experience preferably gained through reputable professional services or financial services firms, in a highly matrix environment
  • Methodical with strong analytical skills; ability to interpret and summarise complex information for onward communication to internal key stakeholders and externally as may be required.
  • Consultancy skills in order to be a trusted adviser to the business on Compliance related issues.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to build persuasive cases based on fact and through the strength of leadership ensure that all relevant stakeholders buy into the Compliance strategy.
  • Credible and effective communicator both written and verbal with proven relationships with industry and/or market contacts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and programme management experience
  • Excellent people management skills able to lead and motivate medium to large teams
