Business Analyst (Analyst / Associate)


SG GBIS is the Global Banking and Investor Solution arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia, SG GBIS provides corporates, financial institutions, investors and public-sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

The Information Technology Department (ITEC) provides and maintains IT solutions to support the business's growth. To strengthen the delivery capability, we are opening a permanent position based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will join the ITEC Risk, Referential and Finance team (ITEC/FRM) as a business analyst. ITEC FRM is a regional team with over 30 people based in Hong Kong and Bangalore, covering the Asia Pacific region (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, India and Australia).


You will be part of a dynamic regional project team, dealing with major stakeholders including Business Lines, Operations and Finance/Risks teams, and be the key player throughout the IT project life cycle. As a business analyst, major responsibilities are as below:

  • Provide extended Business and Impact analysis for accounting and regulatory reporting on Risk, Referential and Finance functional domain (IFRS, Local GAAP, Financial, Management Accounting and Regulatory Reporting)
  • Connect the dot between multiple stakeholders, locations, impacts and drive the roadmap
  • Collect, analyze and prepare user requirements. Conduct gap analysis, and provide detailed functional specifications
  • Coordinate and handle user acceptance tests
  • Assess and design the change management involved and get buy-in from local and regional stakeholders. Define training plans, organize training needed and assist in creating robust documentation of the processes, including detailed operational procedures
  • Monitor & provide reporting to highlight project progress and risks to management and projects governance
  • Coordinate actions with Regional and Global teams to leverage on other entities' knowledge/experience and to ensure global process consistency
  • Execute the implementation plan successfully within the agreed timeframe and budget

  • Soft skills: Strong command of English, Mandarin and formalization capacity
  • Other: Fast learner, team player, independent, ability to handle multiple tasks and functional topic simultaneously
  • PC skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word,
  • Experience in the investment banking industry on wide range of domain with a focus on regulation and financial impact
  • Accounting functional knowledge (Financial, Management Accounting)

  • 3-5 years of experience in banking industry.
  • Excellent academic record including a degree in Engineering or Accounting and Finance.
