Business Overview & Role Description



J.P. Morgan is a global leader in Global Custody and Global Fund Services. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of core product enhancements and targeted tactical/strategic solutions to meet the extensive needs of the clients and prospects for the Global Fund Services business. Our aim is to position J.P. Morgan as 'best in class' with clients and prospects. The Product Development Team also maintains and develop subject matter expertise, providing thought leadership in the Global Fund Services product space.

The Product Development Team is multi-locational (London, Bournemouth, New York, Hong Kong, Australia) and is organized into functional groups each with a distinct and vital role in managing and delivering change for clients and the Global Fund Services Roadmap across:

  • Inbound
  • Core
  • Outbound
  • Client Change

This position will be located in Hong Kong and will have a primary focus on the Asia-Ex developments and its impact across all functional groups mentioned above. This position will report directly to the Global Head of Global Fund Services Product Development in New York and regionally to the Head of Securities Services APAC in Hong Kong. The role will entail working directly with our business partners and clients to deliver competitive and robust product solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions, on time, and on budget;
  • Ensure product investment is clearly aligned/prioritized to commercial business objectives and to the global scope/roadmap ;
  • Identify & deliver profitable, efficient, and effective product enhancements;
  • Understand and analyze industry trends, regulatory developments and competitive landscape. Build business cases and drive execution of new product capabilities and/or target segments;
  • Work with the Product Management team to position the product and present key messages to external clients/prospects as well as to J.P. Morgan Senior Management;
  • Understand the risk profile of each initiative and ensure that it is compliant with group guidelines;
  • Understand the evolution of the clients/markets in which we operate and incorporating change into the global/regional product roadmap(s);
  • Represent J.P. Morgan Global Fund Services at industry forums and events;
  • Project Management and execution of key regional programs;
  • Team Management of local team, project pod or virtual teams, consisting of Product Development business analysts, as well as Operations and Technology staff that you will not have management responsibility for.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



The successful candidate will have worked in the global fund services environment for a minimum of 15 years in an Operations, Client Service, Change Management or Product Management role and is/be able to:
  • An effective team player with proven leadership capability across large and complex programs of work;
  • Influence and negotiate across a globally distributed model to support the product strategy;
  • Lead teams and motivate people across the organization;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrates excellent written and oral communication, clarity of thought and the ability to express oneself clearly
  • Well-developed problem solving / analytical skills to investigate, solution and deliver end to end product enhancements;
  • Highly motivated, quick learner, being the focal point of a virtual project team, comfortable with responsibility and presentations to senior audiences;
  • Being able to build relationships /networks across all levels/areas of the business;
  • Think outside of the box with the vision, energy and practical execution skills to help challenge the status quo to enhance client satisfaction and/or improve internal efficiencies;
  • Language: local language skills would be advantageous.
