Role Description

This position is focused on the oversight of all Operational Risk management strategies and practices for the Asia Fixed Income Operation.
Responsibilities include:



  • Responsible for the development and execution of all Operational Risk Oversight strategies and programs within APAC Fixed Income Operation.


  • Lead the development and enhancement of product specific risk framework, governance, policy, change initiative, RCSA, and reporting programs


  • Ensure reporting and proper escalations to with regional and global OCM and cross functional teams


  • Provide guidelines, and consult with the Business Executive and Operational Risk Senior leaders to ensure that operational risks are evaluated, controlled, and documented


  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing controls, conducts end to end deep dive reviews and provide business direction on risk mitigation within the risk appetite of the Business


  • Provide an independent, objective view of operational risk assessments, mitigation strategies, operational risk trends, and emerging risks.


  • Participates in Global Banking and regional control project and may lead specific control initiatives.


  • Conducts control training and shares lessons learnt from Error, Fines and Loss events with Operations teams


  • Liaison with functional partners in Audit, Compliance, Legal and Finance
Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+years Operational Risk Management experience, including program and strategy development


  • Excellent risk assessment skills, including risk identification and measurement, mitigation strategy development, regulatory management, policy and procedure development


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to negotiate, compromise and demonstrate diplomacy in sensitive situations and to interact effectively with senior management


  • Proven ability to work in a matrixes environment, provide oversight, and directly influence change


  • Ability to collaborate with business and functional experts to provide risk assessment guidance, recognize risks and design enhancements


  • Strong leadership and management skills


  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management and process skills


  • Strong decision making, analytical and creative thinking skills


  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation and sense of urgency


  • Proven ability to build partnerships with key stakeholders


  • Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple, simultaneous, complex priorities


  • Experience building Key Risk Indicators and Key Control Indicators


  • Experience building and executing RCSA programs


  • Excellent knowledge of standard applications including, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project and SharePoint
