Job Description
1. Finance & Accounting Leadership
- Oversee all financial management activities, including fund accounting, corporate accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash management.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of fund NAVs, valuation processes, performance reporting, and fee calculations.
- Manage relationships with auditors, administrators, tax advisors, fund boards, and external regulatory bodies.
- Lead all front-to-back operational workflows for private equity and hedge fund businesses, including trade operations, settlement, capital call/distribution processes, investor onboarding, KYC/AML, and fund lifecycle operations.
- Oversee operational due diligence responses, investor reporting, and all middle-office processes.
- Supervise the technology team to ensure best-in-class infrastructure for trading, portfolio management, cybersecurity, and data management.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives, automate processes, and implement technology solutions to enhance scalability and operational resilience.
- Partner with the CEO and investment partners on firmwide strategy, capital planning, growth initiatives, and new fund launches.
- Participate in strategic decision-making across product innovation, market expansion, and organisational development.
- Provide leadership in investor relations materials, strategic analytics, and board-level financial insights.
- Lead and mentor the Finance, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a firm-wide role model reflecting integrity, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial drive.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a COO or senior operations leader within private equity and/or hedge fund firms (mandatory).
- Strong financial leadership experience - ideally holding prior CFO, Finance Director, or Controller responsibilities.
- Deep understanding of alternative investment structures (Cayman SPCs, LP/GP structures, open-ended funds, managed accounts, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge of front-to-back operations, fund administration, capital flows, valuations, risk frameworks, and fund governance.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, including finance, operations, compliance, risk, and technology.
- Strong familiarity with fund accounting systems, OMS/PMS platforms, and operational technology infrastructure.
- High proficiency in financial modelling, analytics, performance attribution, and financial controls.
- Strong command of regulatory requirements in Hong Kong (SFC), including Type 1/4/9 operational implications.
- Entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset, comfortable building processes in a scaling environment.
