Key Responsibilities:
• Formulate vendor management strategy, workflow processes, methods and policies for effective engagement of IT service providers to achieve business objectives and innovations (cover hardware and software vendors).
• Lead vendor management team to drive IT service provider engagement model (i.e. team structure, methodology, vendor classification and budgeting).
• Ensure company-wide needs / standards for IT service provider onboarding, due diligence, risk assessment, monitoring and termination are being accomplished to achieve expected outcomes (KPIs).
• Define and drive relevant processes to source and engage IT service providers relevant to the business needs (e.g. effective contract negotiation).
• Prepare and produce required documentations supporting the vendor management lifecycle.
• Manage IT service provider relations (in-house & external) to deliver the expected outcomes.
• Perform as functional bridge amongst IT service providers as well as internal stakeholders (non-IT).
• Coordinate all vendor management tasks to facilitate the interaction of IT service providers and internal employees.
• Track, measure, report and evaluate vendor performance in accordance with defined KPIs / scope of service.
• Act as the centralized focal point to collect and resolve all vendor related problems and provide timely report to management as required (e.g. work with in-house IT team to manage help desk).
• Identify improvement areas for vendor management process and work closely with relevant stakeholders to prepare solutions (e.g. quality, cost and efficiency).
• Work closely with relevant IT functional areas to monitor contractual agreements of IT service providers (service review meetings, renewal).
• Propose process enhancement regarding operational efficiency across the entire value chain of IT delivery service.
Requirements:
• Degree holder in Computer Science, Operation Management or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years’ solid experience in vendor management practice (3 years or more in leadership role)
• Solid hands-on experience in Request for Proposal (RFP) development and analysis, utilizing vendor performance measurement tools and implementing vendor management office (VMO) practices for on-premises and / or cloud-based solutions.
• Solid experience in industry best practice management process (e.g. ITIL)
• Familiar with design and preparation of cost management and operation reports
• Outstanding knowledge of service level agreement
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of vendors, speaking with people of different culture and backgrounds
• Good communication skills especially written communication skills to write reports, vendor guidelines, and contractual language
• Sound knowledge and experience in wide range of IT technologies, delivery methodology and needs (both hardware and software)
• Excellent negotiation skills to discuss new contracts and rewrite existing contracts with vendors
• People management skills to effectively lead the team to achieve prescribed outcomes in a cost effective manner
