Director Hybrid Institutional Sales – Asia Pacific


SG CIB is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. SG CIB provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

Primary objectives

  • Producer role within the Institutional business in Asia Pacific, focusing on brokerage offering for institutional investors.
  • Develop Sales coverage, business relationships and revenues with assigned and new asset managers and hedge fund accounts.
  • Develop knowledge of client needs and requirements and co-ordinate with Sales, Trading and Research resources in order to deliver the optimal advisory and trading service to SG's institutional clients.
  • Work closely with client's investment team, presenting Execution services and advise clients on trading strategies, transaction opportunities and SG product offering.
  • Implement client trading strategies across Cash equities, Delta One solutions, other derivatives products, across Asia Pacific Markets, as well as Global Markets as needed


Major Accountabilities/ Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing Institutional revenues with an assigned portfolio of Institutional Clients, in particular Hedge Funds, Asset managers and also Sovereign funds based in the APAC region.
  • Co-ordinate the coverage, sales and trading idea origination for SG's institutional customers.
  • Account Management on Key Clients for Global Markets
  • Liaise with Research, Sales and Trading functions within Global Markets in order to deliver superior services to institutional clients.
  • Services provided to clients to include execution & trading services, market commentary, key research stories, flow advertising, cross opportunities, morning meeting, contribution to electronic chat rooms, internal and external account reviews, product marketing and roadshow management.
  • Cross selling within the equities & capital market platform as required by SG Management.


Key skill Areas & Knowledge required:

  • Excellent knowledge of Asian Equity markets, including trading, operations and regulations. Some knowledge of Global Markets a plus.
  • Existing portfolio of Institutional Asset Managers and hedge Funds.
  • Good understanding of Cash Equities, One Delta and Derivatives products.
  • Good understanding of the types of product/strategies most likely to suit Asian investors.
  • Ability to service institutional client and originate trading ideas for implementation across various EQD products.
  • Knowledge of global equity markets.


  • Industry qualifications, including appropriate licenses to trade in Regional Equity Markets.
