Economist

Responsibilities

• This incumbent will be part of Economic Research Department
• Collect and analyze data on economic conditions that affect the Bank’s business (e.g., inflation, national debt)
• Prepare reports discussing economic forecasts and their impact on the industry and the organization
• Produce economic papers to assist management in its investment decision and strategy making process
• Provide advice on a variety of economic issues and country risk provisioning reports
• Forecast economic and financial indicators and conduct stress test under different economic scenario

Requirements

• Minimum of a University graduate in Economics. A master degree or above is preferred
• Proven related working experience
• Excellent command of English and Cantonese. Ability to converse in Mandarin a positive
• Good analytical and numerical skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
• Team player with effective interpersonal skills to facilitate effective working relationship with others
• Manage projects including adhering to the project schedule, identifying problems and developing resourceful solutions
• Candidates with less experience will be considered for Economist
