Finance Operational Risk Manager

The role of OSM is to support the departments DFIN (Development & Finance Division) & MACC (Market Analysis & Certification Community) in preventing, identifying, managing and mitigating the operational risks; to raise awareness and steer a sound risk culture internally; enhance our risk management quality in such fast-changing environment.


Risk Assessment

  • Define cartography and monitor key risk indicators (KRI) for DFIN & MACC on a regular basis.
  • Perform the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) exercise, review and challenge the control to mitigate intrinsic and residual risk grading
  • Conduct in-depth investigations and review of major operational incidents and any operational loss event, lead post-mortem with teams involved; review root cause analysis of such event and translating into preventive action; follow on outstanding or overdue action
  • Facilitate and work closely with the teams internally to fulfill the missions required by regional teams of Business Contingency and Information Security
  • Review and analyze regularly the risk of outsourced or offshore services(OS)

Permanent Supervision / Continuous Monitoring
  • Participate in planning and conducting for all changes / rollout related to permanent supervision framework, controls and supervision program
  • Maintain accurate organization of access rights management process within operations perimeter
  • Provide expert guidance on the development of relevant policies and control documentation
  • Conduct regular "Spot Check" on existing permanent supervision controls and provide improvement recommendations if need

  • Prepare periodic (i.e., monthly) operational risk pack and update management on the operational risk healthiness for operations
  • Prepare and provide operational risk training internally for DFIN & MACC to reinforce the risk awareness mindset
  • Propose and monitor the implementation of action plans to reduce operational risks.

Projects and New Business Process

  • Facilitate project team in conducting Operational Risk Assessment to identify Operational Risk before launching new products or processes
  • Participate, review new business initiatives and off shoring / outsourcing activities
  • Contribute to projects initiated by Paris head office or the regions

Other crucial processes & Ad-hoc support
  • Provide the internal training related operational risk i.e. RSCA
  • Contribute to Internal Audit/Regulatory mission


Key Skill Areas & Knowledge Required

  • University graduate in Finance, Accounting, or Business/Engineer school
  • 7+ years previous work experience or knowledge in Finance Operations, Risk management or Audit
  • Good in statistical analysis and synthesis of data
  • Good communication skills and ability to convey messages to Management
  • Highly motivated and ability to work with a team
  • Good writing skill
  • Proficient in Excel with knowledge in VBA an advantage
  • Knowledge of the new digital technology/data visualization tools an advantage
