Financial Control Manager - Global Finance

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Financial Control Manager – Global Finance.



  • Responsible for Non-Finance Risk, particularly Cyber Security Risk and Third Party Risk control activities across HBAP Finance

  • Ensuring Risk and Control owners and Finance staff are aware of the relevant policies and provide advice and guidance on how to ensure compliance

  • Perform monitoring of controls to validate control effectiveness against policies and standards

  • Monitor the timely resolutions of control issues including the capability to detect, respond and recover from incidents

  • Provide SME support to risk and controls assessments for Cyber and Third Party Risk

  • Manage the regular reporting of Controls MIs to relevant governance forums


  • Educated to graduate degree level in business management related field

  • Strong control or audit background and proven ability in control monitoring or operational risk management 

  • Strong understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives across the Group

  • Strong knowledge of Global Finance – functionally and operationally

  • High level of personal drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs

  • Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Managers

  • Proven ability and experience in problem solving and critical thinking

  • Outstanding relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group

  • Proven abilities in working across cultures
