Our Markets business is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It combines sophisticated 24- hour global coverage with a detailed knowledge of local markets. Our services are offered both online and offline in more than 60 countries and territories worldwide. We specialise in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate Director, Metals Trading Asia Pacific.

Principal responsibilities

  • Global Precious Metals business composes of four pillars, financing, physical, trading and custody and clearing. The financing and physical pillars are unique within Global Markets. This role will support the Bank's client needs in these pillars and responsibilities may include but not limited to Precious Metals Spot or Forward pricing and market risk management, Physical metals management and Precious Metals Financing and funding.
  • Building on our market leading position in Precious Metals and the Bank's strong client franchise, the business is developing our Base Metals offering. The role will contribute to the development of the Base Metals business.
  • Provide timely and accurate dealing services for clients in Metals.
  • Manage the firm's inventory and trading risk under supervision and as assigned in compliance with all applicable regulation within the Metals business.
  • Effectively maintain various risk positions and manage within position limits, provide liquidity and trade ideas to clients while trading within set limits to help the trading team achieve a given revenue target.
  • Ensure correct ticket entry and order routing, maintain communication with sales desk and assist in resolving any settlement problems, ensure ticket entry completion and provide general trading activity support, as necessary.
  • Provide consistent pricing and market making to sales force and target clients.
  • Monitor daily electronic trading activity and determine where certain trades should be routed for execution, and review all activity for accuracy of account information.

  • Strong understanding of Commodities, its products, clients, systems and key processes
  • Trading experience in a markets function. Ability to provide consistent pricing to client requests and manage inventory and risks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Track record working in global team and dealing with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • A good team player and willing to educate herself or himself in the wider metal group product offering to assist with the overall development efforts for Metals as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment with continuous changes, including regulatory changes
  • Mindset and track record challenging the status quo and improving operational efficiency
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
