We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Pension Administration.

Principal responsibilities

  • Delivery of the MPF and ORSO strategy in respect of the scheme/member administration services in HK.
  • Leading and managing the HK and GSC offshore operation teams to deliver MPF and ORSO administration services and relevant customer experience, including employers, employees / members. This also includes driving operations performance/ efficiency and customer centric services
  • Manage the relationship and report on performance per servicing agreement with the trustee and product sponsors, ensuring communications allow for collaborative approaches to regulatory changes.
  • Liaise with MPFA (regulators) in respect of administration services, covering operations & contact center servicing, complaint handling as well as services enabled on technology platform.
  • Represent HSBC in industry and regulatory forums for MPF related matters
  • Support the development of business initiatives, including preparation of concept papers, feasibility study and business case for management approval, guide the execution of the strategic and key initiative from scheme/member administration perspectives
  • Develop and maintain products and propositions associated with MPF/ORSO, linking with propositions from retail banking wealth management, Commercial Banking and Hang Seng Hank
  • Oversee the resolution of incidents relating to MPF/ORSO administration
  • Liaise and manage relationship with Trustee, ensuring communications allow for collaborative approaches


  • Degree holder in Business Administration, Finance or a related field
  • Proven and progressive analytical, planning and project management experience within a business analysis team or equivalent
  • Considerable knowledge of pension business (Preferably in HK MPF and ORSO)
  • In-depth understanding of matrics and financial measures of the business
  • Strong managerial, communication, project management, organizational, lateral thinking, strategic planning, mathematical, decision making, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Solid track record in leading and managing changes
  • Well-developed business acumen
  • Ability to seek out and improve on best practice and capabilities
  • Sound understanding of distribution partners and market, for example branch network, customer segments, products offered and competitive market
  • Proven track record managing in an international environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders (internal and external) and conflicting parties
  • Strong sense of risk management
  • This role will be park under HSBC Insurance with effective 1 November 2018
