The Asset Management group comprises of the Equity, Fixed Income, Multi Asset and Real Estate investment teams together with Investment Solutions Design, Trading, Derivatives, Product and IM Operations.
The Equity team is responsible for the management of high performing retail and institutional equity based funds covering the UK, Europe and the US, Global, Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific. The team aims to deliver strong returns for our investors and leverage contemporary investment products and services to continually build and enhance the business through the growth of assets under management. Equity Research Analysts places first-hand, detailed research at the core of our decision making. We subsequently build our funds from the bottom up, stock by stock, taking account of market trends but not being driven by them.
The Fixed Income team has been managing portfolios since 1982 and today manages income assets on behalf of institutional, wholesale and retail clients globally. Investment capabilities extend across the risk spectrum, including money markets, government bonds, investment grade credit, high yield, emerging market debt and inflation linked bonds.
The Multi Asset Group manages single and multi-asset class products for institutional and retail customers. The funds are managed via three asset allocation approaches: strategic asset allocation to ensure portfolios meet client objectives for return and risk; tactical asset allocation for returns over Benchmark and preservation of capital; and manager selection whereby robust research actively seeks to identify future high alpha managers and combine them in a diversified way to create a portfolio to achieve higher than average performance with lower than average risk.
The Fidelity Real Estate team manage portfolios of buildings such as offices, shopping centres and other types of property across the UK and Europe. The team is involved in a diverse range of activities from the outset, including negotiating the purchase of new buildings, researching property in different cities and towns throughout Europe and dealing with a wide variety of contacts including managing agents, specialist research organisations, environmental consultants, and the press.
Investment Management Operations is a multi-location, multi time zone environment and is responsible for all core asset management, trading and research activities for Equities and Fixed Income. In recognition of continued expansion of the local offices and complimentary domestic businesses, the Investment Management Operations function is required to support general day to day activities together with providing strategic support for key stakeholder initiatives. This will include providing comprehensive solutions including planning & implementation, portfolio services, research and trading operations and technological & administrative services to the core Investment team at both the strategic level and on a day to day basis.
Purpose of your Role
As the Investment Management (IM) Planning & Implementation Manager/Senior Manager, you will be responsible for providing the analysis, recommendations and implementation support necessary realize the strategic goals of the asset management team.
Initiatives will vary immensely with evolving business needs and regulatory changes. Implementation approach and requirements will oftentimes be driven by the outcome of your analysis and recommendations. As such, there is no prescriptive methodology across all initiatives. A successful approach will be structured and methodical while maintaining the maximum level of flexibility and responsiveness to a rapidly changing input and requirements set.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a deep understanding of our current & future investment capabilities, product & operational platform, business strategy and core asset management teams, execute a variety of initiatives and bring an informed perspective to discussions on internal and external strategy. You will develop a close partnership with leaders and organisations outside of your immediate team to enable you to compile and provide data and information that will influence decisions at a senior level.
Key stakeholders are the Head of Asset Management, Asia, the Global Head of Research as well as the Equity and Fixed Income CIOs. Working closely with these business stakeholders and other internal stakeholders, outstanding analytical, interpersonal and communication skills are essential to your success.
