We are partnering with a leading financial institution to appoint a Programme Director / Head of Transformation to drive strategic transformation initiatives across the organisation.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing large, complex programmes that enhance business capabilities, modernise operating models, improve customer outcomes, strengthen regulatory compliance, and drive operational excellence. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, manage executive stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives across the bank.

The ideal candidate will bring exceptional programme leadership capabilities, extensive banking industry experience, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale transformation programmes within complex financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, governance, and execution of large-scale transformation programmes across the bank.
• Manage programme delivery across multiple business units, functions, and technology teams.
• Establish and maintain programme governance, reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement frameworks.
• Drive collaboration across business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and external partners.
• Manage executive-level stakeholders, including C-suite leaders, steering committees, and programme sponsors.
• Oversee programme budgets, timelines, resources, dependencies, and delivery outcomes.
• Ensure regulatory, compliance, and risk requirements are effectively managed throughout the programme life cycle.
• Lead change management, business readiness, communication, and adoption initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate programme risks, issues, and dependencies while maintaining delivery momentum.
• Drive strategic decision-making and ensure realisation of targeted business benefits and transformation objectives.
• Establish effective programme management disciplines, delivery standards, and governance practices across multiple work streams.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to programme managers, project managers, business analysts, and delivery teams.

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation programmes within banking or financial services environments.
• Extensive experience managing programmes with significant budget, complexity, multiple work streams, and executive visibility.
• Strong banking industry knowledge, with a solid understanding of banking products, operations, customer journeys, risk, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience working closely with senior business stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
• Deep understanding of the Hong Kong banking sector, including regulatory expectations and market practices.
• Strong knowledge of governance, programme controls, budgeting, risk management, and delivery methodologies.
• Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders across business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and third-party vendors.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across complex organisations.
• Experience delivering digital transformation, operating model transformation, customer transformation, regulatory change, data transformation, technology modernisation, or core platform transformation initiatives.
• Prior experience leading regional or multi-country programmes across Asia Pacific is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be advantageous.
