The GF Asset Management business is looking to add on a Research Associate to the Long Short Equity team. The ideal candidate should have 2-3 years sell-side experience (in commodities and materials prepared). Other Research Associates with solid fundamental analysis skills in HK/China, Korea, US can be considered. Strong prospects to grow into a Junior Portfolio Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Closely monitoring the most recent news and trends within the industry
  • Participate in IPO roadshows, company visits and investment seminars. Writing IPO research reports, updates and carry out financial modeling as well as conduct channel-check and surveys
  • Prepare periodical investment meeting materials and relevant ad-hoc reports as required from time to time
  • Contribute to portfolio performance by proactively recommending investment ideas (both long and short actionable ideas)
  • Gather and analyze data on assigned companies or industries
  • Prepare and update company financial modeling and make earnings forecast based on latest company results, company news and institutinoal research reports
  • Monitor and update team members on latest development of macroeconomic news, and industry news. Provide support on regular investment administration activities
  • Prepare periodical investment meeting materials and relevant ad-hoc reports as required from time to time

Requirements:

  • University graduate with relevant disicipline
  • Ideally 2 years' experience working in equity research
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly comfortable initiating contact and interaction with research colleagues and clients
  • Demonstrate strong fundamental analysis skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin
  • Be able to build good relationships at all levels with brokers, company management and clients
  • Highly numerate, with exceptional quantitative, financial analysis and modelling skills
  • Self-starter who is proactive and highly detail-orientated
