Job Description:

With continued business growth, ActusRayPartners is seeking a Risk Manager to join our Risk team.

The Risk Manager will work closely with the Investment team and will be responsible for independent investment and operational risk within the firm.

Responsibilities include:

Ensuring a robust framework is maintained in accordance with our Risk Management Policy;
Overseeing the day-to-day functions of the Risk team;
Advising on investment risk limits appropriate for our strategies;
Supervising daily pre-trade and post-trade monitoring of our investment risk limits and trading activities, including any investment risk limit breaches and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to complete resolution of breaches;
Reviewing and implementing investment risk limits within our OMS / PMS system Eze or externally as appropriate;
Monitoring the consistency of the risk profile (including VaR) of similar mandates across our funds and separately managed accounts;
Monitoring counterparty risk within the funds and across the firm and, as appropriate, enhancing our proprietary credit risk monitor;
Conducting periodic and ad-hoc risk reviews, (including but not limited to best-execution, TCA analysis and due diligence on service providers);
Performance monitoring across all accounts and ensuring adherence with GIPS;
Producing risk reports for the Risk Committee, enhancing the standard of reporting and providing relevant insights and advice;
Short selling and other investment related regulatory reporting as required for our strategies;
Conducting operational risk reviews;
Representing the firm professionally in internal and external correspondence, with stakeholders including existing and prospective clients, business partners, fund directors and service providers; and
Cultivating a culture of risk awareness across the firm.

Qualifications and Experience:

7+ years’ experience ideally in asset management, investment consulting or the securities industry, with a focus on investment risk and analytics.
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics or a Mathematics based degree.
Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and controls, particularly in investment operations or asset management.
Actuarial training an advantage.
CFA or FRM an advantage.
Strong numerical skills; intuitive understanding of numbers. Statistical knowledge an advantage.
Proficiency and extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.
Native fluency in spoken and written English.
