SSGA has extensive experience managing Multi-Asset Class Solutions strategies across a broad array of global, tactical, and strategic benchmarks. Many of these portfolios are custom designed to meet the distinct needs of institutional investors around the world.
Reporting to the Global Head of Strategy and Research – Investment Solutions Group the APAC Head of Strategy and Research will be responsible for engaging with clients as an investment leader and managing a team whose responsibilities include: conducting research on the latest trends in asset allocation making recommendations to clients about potential enhancements and conducting customized research and analysis for clients. This is a highly visible role for SSGA as the leader will be seen as a key thought leader and business partner to some of the leading institutional investors in the region. The successful candidate needs to be well versed in the most important asset allocation topics including factor-based asset allocation managing tail risk alternative risk premiums strategic asset allocation and tactical asset allocation. Three general skillsets will be required to achieve success in this role: deep investment knowledge across investment markets the ability to communicate in public and the ability to manage a diverse team of research strategists.
The individual in this role will oversee a small but growing team of research strategists located in Hong Kong and Sydney. The individual needs to be collaborative across the resources of the Investment Solutions Group SSGA and across State Street broadly. The position is broadly focused across investment markets and requires a high level of creativity.
Leadership/Managing Talent: A proven leader who brings passion and vision as well as experience attracting and developing high performing talent.
Knowledge and Experience: Deep experience in investments across multiple asset classes.
Candidates should have a minimum experience of ten years in a large scale multi-asset class organization.
Managing Performance: The successful candidate will have an ability to delegate responsibilities appropriately while holding colleagues accountable for achieving high levels of performance.
Communication: The ability to provide clear direct transparent communication to colleagues clients and other constituents is critical as well as the possession of strong interpersonal skills.
Tenacity and Persistence: Candidates must be self-confident tenacious persistent and believe that the success of others arises from the achievement by the entire team of agreed-upon objectives.
Education: An advanced degree in finance economics or a CFA is preferred.
