We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Asset, Liability and Capital Management and Finance Actuarial Manager .

Principal responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of capital, including coordination of financial and strategic analysis helping the Insurance and Asset Management businesses to optimise capital levels and structure and therefore maximise both shareholder returns and Group capital adequacy ratios.
  • Support capital efficiency initiatives through a granular analysis of the drivers of economic performance and capital requirements in the key manufacturing entities and support regulatory projects such as new Risk Based Capital regimes
  • Support implementation of a strong Asset, Liability and Capital Management governance used for the balance sheet optimisation
  • Support implementation of a robust governance over the actuarial processes used for the valuation of the insurance business' assets and liabilities, and exercising oversight over the calculation processes, acting as second line of defence
  • Participation in key management committees such as Executive Committee, Asset Liability Committee, Group Balance Sheet Committee


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Commercial awareness and a high degree of credibility with senior management
  • Strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to work effectively across matrix reporting lines
  • Track record of strategic partnering with business stakeholders
  • Strong presentation and people skills
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and thrive in a fast changing, results driven environment
  • Expert understanding of the life insurance industry and insurance regulatory requirements
  • Qualified actuary with specific experience on life insurance including embedded value reporting and risk-based capital frameworks
  • Strong financial background, including in depth understanding of financial markets such as theory and instruments
  • Strong influencing, communication and leadership skills and a proven ability to lead group-wide processes and working with international and virtual teams
  • Experience of project lead and implementation and experience of developing financial strategy
