We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Communications Manager, Commercial Banking.

Principal responsibilities

  • Utilise media relationships to deliver coverage for relevant Global campaigns and positioning for the global businesses that reinforces HSBC's leadership on priority global themes.
  • Ensure consistent messaging reflecting HSBC's personality and purpose across print, broadcast, online and social media.
  • Identify opportunities for crossborder and cross business media activity in support of key trade and business corridors or collaboration efforts.
  • Manage and mitigate arising issues, by building strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure early warning and sharing of information.
  • Use media measurement to inform and guide media activity.
  • Strict adherence to the global Media Relations Governance Policy.
  • Create compelling content on HSBC's strategy for employee channels.
  • Source and publish diverse and compelling employee stories from Country, aligned to Global Business and Function strategy and global priority themes.
  • Generate op ed page and thought leadership positioning pieces and tailor regionally or globally developed op ed pages for local Country use.
  • Own, support, collaborate on, track and analyse the delivery and impact of communications initiatives.
  • Operate within employee communications and media relations governance frameworks.

  • Broad, expert knowledge of communications trends and international best practice.
  • Strong communications experience and understanding of the financial sector, media environment and culture.
  • Proven ability to operate within a global matrix and prioritise competing demands.
  • Proven ability to align to a global strategy, whilst maintaining an awareness of local sensitivities.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills and ability to produce clear, engaging narrative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and personal presence and credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Displays role model of communications capabilities and behaviours aligned to the Group values.
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and pressurised situations.
  • Proven crisis management skills.
