Our client is a global fund services provider. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for Fund Services suite of products for Greater China & HK markets. The role will be in charge of product development and management for Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, Distribution support and Trustee & Fiduciary Services. He/she will also oversee the development to the strategic relationship with our China partner in charge to deliver the admin services for Chinese fund manager and WFOEs.

Responsibilities

  1. ENSURE MANAGEMENT OF THE FUND SERVICES ACROSS GREATER CHINA
    • Define and manage priorities
    • Identify strategic clients / regional specific requirements to enrich the service offering & roadmap across Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR
    • Ensure product guidelines, best practices and controls implementation in line with the regional framework 
    • Ensure appropriate support to client on complex topics (new requirements, complex solutions, regulation, remediation)
    • Liaise with our local partner in China and Client Delivery on key issues as escalation role
    • Participate actively to transformational deals / projects and contribute to design strategic target operating model for our clients

 

  1. MARKET & REGULATORY WATCH – GO TO MARKET
    • Monitor the regulatory development and assess the impact on our service offering and products
    • Conduct competitive analysis and market regulatory watches, and translate these insights into recommendations
    • Establish thought leadership / market advocacy – inc. regulatory topics - approach to promote market awareness & understanding of firm's capabilities
    • Support expansion in Greater China through business case structuring, strategic review and analysis and decision making across new markets
    • Update stakeholders on latest product and market developments
    • Prepare strategic analysis to support the team in defining our product strategies and enhancements

 

  1. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
    • Identify key targets and provide prospects and clients with product capabilities and business operating models
    • Actively engage with clients to identify new opportunities or answer their requirements / pain points
    • Adapt product / pricing / legal if required - to align with local market practices
    • Support the team in the planning and execution for any new products and initiatives
    • Assist with preparation for client presentation and documentation.

 

  1. P&L and RISK MANAGEMENT
    • Identify risk issues (regulatory, operational, clients)  and propose appropriate actions
    • Identify profitability issues and propose actions to heads
    • Drive and increase the profitability of the assigned products portfolio through lifecycle management:
    • Identify of service improvement and cost saving.
    • Ensure appropriate profitability modeling is in place, and assist in the design and development of financial models where required
    • Analyze, price and approve new business opportunities
    • Work closely with Sales to establish sales pipeline and revenues projections, and track deal performance against sales plan/pipeline

 

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of experience in the Fund Industry in Mainland China and Hong Kong, preferably in an international firm
  • Excellend command in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Extensive product knowledge in traditional fund services
  • Capability to undertake detailed analysis and to formalize documentation to support the product lifecycle
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • A clear ability to interact, communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels and across functions
  • Analytical capability and ability to formalize and provide high standard outcomes and reports
  • Experience on APAC markets.
