As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager, HSBC Operation Services and Technology, Global Function, Asia Pacific .

Principal responsibilities

  • ​To support the Asia Pacific Head Regulatory Compliance, HSBC Operation Services and Technology, Global Functions in the provision of Regulatory compliance support and advice for HSBC Operation Services and Technology and Global Functions, enabling HSBC to more effectively adhere to regulatory requirements in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Responsible for assisting the Asia Pacific Head Regulatory Compliance, HSBC Operation Services and Technology, Global Functions Asia Pacific on a regional basis in complying with all relevant external regulations and internal codes and policies and good market practice. Additional responsibilities include supporting the Asia Pacific Head Regulatory Compliance, HSBC Operation Services and Technology, Global Functions Asia Pacific in providing advice on compliance issues including review and providing compliance sign off where required on customer documentations, staff incentive schemes and various Global Functions and HSBC Operation Services and Technology projects and initiatives in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific.
  • The provision of timely and reliable regulatory advice assist HSBC Operation Services and Technology and Global functions to effectively manage regulatory risk
  • Management of multiple enquiries from different departments at any one time, under considerable deadline pressure
  • Provision of long term regulatory view to the HSBC Operation Services and Technology and Global functions ensuring the regulatory requirements are factored in their business strategies


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Significant leadership experience and a strategic thinker.
  • Experience working with Compliance related matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy in the language of business.
  • Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex issues.
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators.
  • Experience of leading and motivating a group of individuals.
  • Experience of interpreting and analyzing a large volume of information and provide succinct summary for management.
  • Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred including reporting internationally.
  • Ability to lead change regionally in Asia Pacific, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business globally.
  • Project or Programme Management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Global Functions in Human Resources, Finance or Tax.
