Primary Objectives

  • Execute client orders for synthetics, including pnotes, swaps, forwards, repo, convertible bonds, getting borrow for shorts
  • Handle complex & contingent client order flow to achieve best execution, give timely reports back to clients, provide coverage so that clients give SG an increasing amount of their business
  • Entrench existing, and grow new, client relationships through idea generation, client entertainment and superior service
  • Comply with all internal policies regarding risk limits, credit limits, and policies
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for platform improvements and work to implement the solutions

Major Accountabilities / Principal Responsibilities
  • Contribute meaningfully to rapid growth of the desk's revenues by proactively getting more business from existing and new clients
  • Continuously handle, monitor and action transactions from clients, which will comprise Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, Pension Funds, Insurers and internal clients
  • Keep operational risk and errors as close to zero as possible
  • Make sure all risk and trades are correctly captured in SG systems before leaving for the day
  • Make sure all required reports (risk, those for clients, and others as required) are complete before leaving for the day
  • Build active working relationships with other sales desks and the relevant trading desks
  • Actively contribute and cross-sell the Newedge offering
  • Fit in well with rest of team and into SG's culture


Profile

Key Skill Areas and Knowledge Required

  • Has been executing for clients in Front Office markets for at least 4 years
  • Knowledge in building software tools to improve desk's processes
  • Very numerically literate
  • Extremely good attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly understand new products and trades
  • Socially likeable and user-friendly
  • Wide bandwidth
  • Entrepreneurial
  • Passionate about financial markets

Qualifications
  • University Bachelor Degree
  • SFC licensed for 2 years
  • Fluent English, and an Asian language is a plus
