Portfolio Compliance Group (PCG) is a global group which sits within Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS), a core functions within the Business Operations Group at BlackRock. PCG is responsible for implementing controls & processes, to ensure we are portfolio compliant and aligned with all regulatory and portfolio issued guidelines. This relates to trading and investments, including Aladdin pre-and post-trade compliance and non-Aladdin trading compliance; global syndicate offering review; ERISA & Fiduciary monitoring, and Global Thresholds reporting.
We are currently looking for talent on Analyst and Associate level in the following teams within PCG:
The Disclosures Reporting Team
is primarily focuses on monitoring and reporting of major shareholdings, short selling activities and Takeover Panel transactions across the Americas and Asia Pacific. The remit of the role covers all major global investments. We are also responsible for disclosing and reporting various information to fund boards and clients, including sub-advised clients.
The Implementations Team
is primarily focuses on interpreting and analysing the client's investment guidelines and coding them in BlackRock's compliance system. The primary compliance system is within the Aladdin network, and PCG places compliance restrictions into the system using BlackRock's proprietary coding language, which is similar to SQL.
The Monitoring Team
is responsible for investment guideline monitoring of both BlackRock investment funds and client mandates, Pre-trade and Post-trade investment guideline exception investigation & resolution, furthermore they are working closely with portfolio management and other partners to ensure portfolio compliance. Nice to have skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (preferred but not required)
- Experience in working with and building strong and positive relationships with both internal and external partners
- Strong control / risk mitigation mentality; ability to apply solid judgement as to when to raise issues.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and strong IT skills, including experience with Visual Basic and SQL (preferable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to target audience
