Principal Systems Administrator

  • 10+ years experience with CommVault in large IT environments or equivalent in professional services
  • Candidate should possess demonstrable knowledge of scripting in at-least 1 scripting language. (PowerShell, Bash, Perl, JavaScript, etc.)
    Strong experience with regular expressions, API's, JavaScript, Python, JSON, SQL and scripting.
    Commvault Workflow Development experience is preferred.

  • Multiple years developing backup solutions for core and edge datacenters and remote offices across a WAN with experience implementing and leading implementation teams
  • SME knowledge with CommVAult deduplication, IntelliSnap, Synthetci Copy, DASH Copy, Continuous Data Replicator, LiveSync, NDMP, VMware Proxy Copy, and Workflows.
  • Plan, test, and implement global upgrades of data protection infrastructure including CommVault software, tape and disk storage targets, and backup servers
  • Design and implement best-practice backup solutions for core datacenters, applications, databases, VMware virtual servers, and NetApp, PureStore, and 3-par storage systesms
  • Collaborate with storage team members to create mirrors and snapshots to adequately protect mission critical data
  • Design and implement backup solutions for remote locations, offices, and small datacenters
  • Collaborate with other IT and business units to identify RTO and RPO requirements and deliver solutions based upon SLAs
  • Provide input and feed back to the IT Infrastructure architecture team for long-term strategic data protection BC/DR needs
  • Work with vendors , VARs, and VMO to identify and procure new hardware to meet capacity demands and refresh existing hardware
  • Act as Team technical SME and provide knowledge transfer to junior members of the team
  • Daily, weekly, monthly reporting on backup failures/success rates, failure trends, capacity trends and capacity planning. Excellent reporting and communication skills required
  • Assist in monitoring and resolving daily backup failures, restore request, media management, and resolve trouble tickets
  • Candidates with 3+ years of PS experience preferred
