Our Geospatial Team (Model Development Group) is responsible for developing critical geospatial datasets, exposure intelligence, and modeling components that underpin Moody's industry-leading catastrophe risk solutions used by more than 400 clients worldwide. By joining our team, you will be part of exciting work in developing geospatial datasets for catastrophe models, advancing AI-powered geospatial analytics, and delivering innovative solutions in renewable energy intelligence, event response, and damage assessment to support global risk insights and decision-making.

Skills and Competencies
- Strong foundation in machine learning, computer vision, and numerical methods
- Experience with CNN-based architectures and modern vision models
- Solid understanding of remote sensing techniques, including:
- Image classification and segmentation
- Change detection and decorrelation
- Processing of hyperspectral and multispectral imagery
- Proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in: Machine Learning frameworks (Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, GluonCV, Image processing & geospatial libraries: OpenCV, GDAL, GeoPandas, Rasterio)
- Familiarity with GIS tools: ESRI suite, QGIS, GRASS
- Exposure to Google Earth Engine is a plus
- Basic understanding of AI concepts (Generative AI tools and Agentic AI systems), with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency leveraging these technologies for research, analysis, or workflow optimization. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

- Global Renewable Energy Project: mapping solar and wind assets worldwide
- Developing and applying vision models to geospatial challenges
- Working on tasks such as: Image enhancement (denoising, super-resolution), b uilding footprint extraction, r enewable asset detection, m ulti-temporal change detection
- Supporting the integration of LVMs and generative AI into production workflows
