Our client is a high profile organisation with business interests across Ireland and the UK. As an organisation, they are entrepreneurial and are viewed as a leader within their industry sector. Their Management team are focussed on delivering high results within a competitive market place. The success of their organisation depends on the calibre of their team and they are keen to recruit a high calibre Tax Accountant to work with their Senior Management team.




Role: VAT Accountant



Reporting to the Head of Tax, the VAT Accountant will be involved in the following:

• Preparation of VAT computations for Irish entities and ensuring company accounts reflect an accurate VAT charge


• Manage VAT compliance cycle for all Group entities


• Liaising with subsidiaries and external tax advisors to ensure VAT payments and tax returns are filed with the relevant tax authorities by the appropriate deadlines


• Managing VAT "health checks" around the Group to ensure compliance with the Group's Tax Risk Policy


• Assist with transfer pricing planning and maintenance of related documentation


• Liaising with tax advisors and tax authorities


• VAT: Preparation of Group returns


• VAT: Calculation of International VAT reclaims


• Documenting processes and corporate policies


• Ad hoc projects

Candidate Requirements:

• Must have an accountancy qualification


• Tax qualification would be an advantage, but not necessary


• Should have at least one year PQE working as a VAT accountant within the Tax department of a large organisation within Industry or Financial services


• They must have good commercial skills and be comfortable interacting at senior level within a major group
