A leading Bank are looking for a Product Controller to join their team, located in Dublin. The role sits within the Product Control team, working with the broader Finance team. Product Control performs a number of key controls and processes associated with the production and understanding of the daily P&L and balance sheet across the firm's trading desks. This includes production of P&L Explain, independent valuation control, significant trade and new product review, production of back-testing P&L and balance sheet substantiation.

Your Role

  • Initially join the project to help deliver the expansion of the existing entity as part of response to the European referendum
  • After go-live support all key activities performed by the Product Control team.

Project Accountabilities

  • Work with the Finance project managers to ensure all required people, process, and system changes have been identified and prepared in readiness for go-live
  • Work with Finance SMEs and project managers to help develop Product Control documentation.
  • Undertake training and development in readiness for go-live.

Business as Usual Accountabilities

  • Review and understanding of daily P&L and Balance sheet. Liaise with teams to go through P&L, risks and issues.
  • Review and discuss price testing results with the senior trading heads
  • Engage with business to review and discuss material new trades.
  • Review of the daily Actual and Hypo P&L. Discuss with local trading heads as appropriate.
  • Support engagement with Regulators and Auditors to ensure compliance with, and proper representation of policies/ practices.
  • Understand the governance process and ensure compliance

Essential Skills

  • Qualified Accountant with a strong understanding of IFRS accounting rules
  • Strong organisational skills. Flexible and proactive work style.
  • Proven ability to meet tight timelines.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Able to work with and present to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of working across multiple business areas, functions and locations.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving mindset and with the ability and willingness to get into the details to find solutions.
