The Role

• Transaction Processing: Record invoices, POs, expenses, and bank/credit card transactions in NetSuite; manage AP/AR, aging reports, and reconciliations of bank accounts, POS data, and inventory movements.
• Closing & Tax: Support monthly/annual closings (cut-off, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, balance sheet reconciliations) and Japanese tax compliance, including consumption tax filings and annual returns.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare cash position and liquidity reports, and support the Finance Manager with ad hoc analysis.
• Process Improvement: Help harmonize processes with US HQ and strengthen internal controls as the business grows.

Your Skills

• Fluent Japanese and business level English (will interview in English and need to frequently read and write in English)
• 5+ years of accounting (don't need hands on closing experience)
• Retail industry background would be a big plus but not required
