Join one of Japan's largest technology groups as a Technical Project Manager (TPM), leading the delivery of a next-generation contact center AI platform powered by Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).

You will serve as the critical bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders, taking ownership of project planning, scope definition, milestone management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment. The role covers the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements and solution design through development, testing, release, and transition to operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Project Manager, IT Project Manager, or Technical Program Manager looking to lead a large-scale Generative AI initiative within a global engineering environment in Tokyo.
Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business owners and engineers to define project scope, delivery plans, milestones, and priorities.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of a next-generation contact center platform incorporating Generative AI and LLM technologies.
• Evaluate technical feasibility and coordinate priorities between engineering and business stakeholders.
• Manage progress, quality, dependencies, and delivery throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, development, testing, release, and operational transition.
• Use Jira and Confluence to manage tasks, dependencies, risks, issues, and project changes.
• Ensure projects comply with relevant security, compliance, and performance standards.
• Communicate project status, risks, priorities, and decisions clearly across executives, business teams, and engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:

• 7+ years of Technical Project Management experience within the IT industry or software product development.
• Proven experience leading project delivery within Agile environments using Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Hands-on experience managing projects and tracking delivery using Jira and Confluence.
• Experience managing the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and planning through development, testing, release, and operational transition.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another relevant technical discipline.

Soft Skills:

• Strong facilitation skills with the ability to build consensus while respecting engineering teams' technical judgement.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders ranging from executives to software engineers.
• Ability to identify the underlying issues in ambiguous situations and proactively support risk management and decision-making.
• Product-oriented mindset with the confidence to challenge requirements and make recommendations based on business value rather than simply executing requests.

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Business-level (JLPT N2 or above)
• English: Fluent.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• PMP, PMI-ACP, or another recognised project management certification.
• Professional background in software engineering or solution architecture.
• Knowledge of contact center technologies, including omnichannel platforms, routing, voice, and chat systems.
• Understanding of major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and modern software development practices.
• Knowledge or practical experience with Generative AI, LLMs, Conversational AI, or AI-powered systems.
