A leading global investment bank is seeking an experienced Equity Prime Finance Origination Director to join its Global Markets business in Tokyo. This is a rare front-office opportunity to lead business development initiatives for Japanese Equity Prime Finance, focusing on expanding relationships with hedge funds and other institutional clients.

As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in originating new business, delivering strategic financing solutions, and partnering with global stakeholders to grow the firm's Prime Finance franchise in Japan. This position offers outstanding exposure to sophisticated institutional clients and the opportunity to make a significant commercial impact within a world-class investment banking platform.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead business development initiatives for the Japanese Equity Prime Finance business, with a primary focus on hedge fund clients.
• Build, develop, and manage long-term relationships with domestic and international institutional investors.
• Originate new Prime Finance opportunities and identify strategic revenue growth initiatives.
• Deliver tailored financing and capital markets solutions that meet clients' investment and trading objectives.
• Collaborate with Sales, Trading, Prime Brokerage, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams to provide seamless client service.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify new business opportunities.
• Represent the firm in client meetings, industry events, and strategic business discussions.
• Ensure all business activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal compliance standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Japanese Equity Prime Finance within an investment bank based in Japan.
• Proven track record in Prime Finance Origination, business development, and institutional client coverage.
• Extensive experience working with hedge funds and institutional investors.
• Strong knowledge of Japanese equity markets, Prime Brokerage, securities financing, and capital markets.
• Demonstrated success in developing new client relationships and expanding existing business opportunities.
