Your Role and Responsibilities



Job Description
The senior Oracle and Oracle Exadata Database Administrator (DBA) position will be responsible for a centralized database administration team, which provides 7x24 support in test/prod environments. DBA is mainly responsible for maintaining highly visible production databases. The position requires capacity planning, installation, integration, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, refreshes and recovery and backup.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, Installation, configuration, patching and upgrading of database server software and related products
  • Establish and maintain recovery and backup policies and procedures
  • Routine maintenance, backups, refreshes migrations, loads, routine checks, tuning in production, development and test environments
  • Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
  • Ensuring data integrity and availability
  • Establish and execute periodic disaster recovery testing
  • Performance management, and tuning
  • Database management, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Capacity planning
  • Database licensing
  • Database security, and encryption
  • Evaluation of database features and database related products
  • Database administration for Oracle on premise and in cloud
  • Setup and maintain documentation and standards
  • Manage Oracle Exadata environments, including coordinating with Platinum support and coordination with application owners on quarterly patching activities
  • Work closely with technical and client management to ensure implementation of database management and support tools for complex business application development requirements and processes in accordance with latest enterprise direction.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems
  • 5-10 years of IT experience with a record of progressive career growth
  • 5-10 years' experience with Database Administration
  • Experience with managing Oracle Exadata environments including Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL6/7) administration, Cell Node Management, ASM administration
  • Hands on experience in Patching all Exadata Components.
  • Experience with Oracle database products such as Real Application Clusters (RAC), Active Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
  • Experience with managing a Data Warehouse on Exadata
  • Software Products: Oracle 11g/12c RDBMS, Oracle 11g/12c RAC, OEM 12c, RMAN, Oracle Dataguard (Physical and Active), Advanced Replication, Streams, Golden Gate, Partitioning, OVM, Netapp Snap Manager, Advanced Security, Data Vault
  • Extensive experience with Database troubleshooting to identify root cause
  • Experience working on other relational databases viz. SQl Server and MySQL will be plus
  • In depth understanding of ITIL/ITSM principles in managing operational service delivery
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, and advanced problem-solving orientation and decision-making skills. Proven ability to develop, present and justify positions to all levels within the company.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise



  • Experience with managing Oracle Exadata environments including Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL6/7) administration, Cell Node Management, ASM administration
  • Hands on experience in Patching all Exadata Components.
