A growing Asian based asset management organisation is hiring an Accounting Manager in KL - Malaysia.

1. Full sets of accounts experience, AP, AR
2. Cash flow forecasting, financial reporting
3. Candidates from financial services industry preferred (ie. asset management/fund management, banks, brokerage/securities companies)
4. Mandarin skills required to liaise with Chinese speaking clients

Main responsibilities : -

1. Making sure day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, cash receipts and accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and payroll are recorded properly.
2. Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., net assets, investments, revenue, expenses, payroll allocations, etc.), ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate.
3. Ensuring proper revenue and expense recognition.
4. Monitoring cash and investment balances and performing cash flow forecasting.
5. Ensuring all finance and accounting operations comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and federal and state laws and regulations.
6. Assisting the CEO in developing and monitoring departmental, project, and organizational budget; assisting with monthly financial reporting needs.
7. Performing fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of external auditors.
8. Providing regular updates to the CEO
9. Continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting operations through technology including training staff to better utilize financial and accounting software.
10. Oversee the operations and development of the company’s finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
11. Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the company.
12. Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.
13. Supervise the documentation of the company’s financial status and forecasts.
14. Work with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and to prepare for audits.
15. Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance on financial processes and ensuring professional development.

Main requirements:-

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or relevant field required.
2. ACCA qualified is advantageous
3. 8 to 10 years in financial management and accounting
4. Experience in managing and covering multiple subsidiaries or group level
5. Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, presentable and good communication skills
6. Mandarin skills required to liaise with Chinese speaking clients
