Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Assistant Manager Treasury Credit Risk - Credit Control.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain efficient treasury credit control procedure relating to treasury products and systems.
  • Facilitate and expedite the establishment of credit lines for Global Markets (GM) activities.
  • Review GM related credit proposals from other counterparties and other Group offices.
  • Minimize the Bank's exposure in terms of credit documentation risk to prevent losses resulting from treasury and capital market activities.
  • Ensure an effective Operational Risk Management process is in place to reduce the level of operational risk losses and to protect HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah/Labuan Offshore Unit from foreseeable future losses.
  • Act as the Business Risk and Control Management (BRCM) Coordinator.
  • Ensure the accurate recording and effective monitoring of credit risk arising from treasury-related activities.

  • Minimum of 3 years proven, progressive and broad-based experience in credit, lending and/or workout areas or equivalent;
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent experience.
    Credit training or equivalent experience;
  • Strong analytical, planning, mathematical, problem-solving, communications, financial, technical, interpersonal and diplomatic skills;
  • In-depth knowledge of businesses, their credit products and pertinent regulations affecting the extension of credit for them;
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate and discuss credit risk in new, unusual or complex proposal structures.
