Assurance - Audit Manager, Malaysia

As part of our team, you will provide peace of mind to clients by using your skills and experience in order to give companies, investors and regulators confidence in the validity of financial statements and business-critical information or processes. Groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines) within Assurance include External Audit, Climate Change and Sustainability Services, Financial Accounting Advisory Services and Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services.

Join our External Audit team and you will help our clients meet their reporting requirements by providing an objective and independent examination of their financial statements. In addition, you will conduct timely and constructive discussion with management on accounting and reporting matters, and provide a robust and clear perspective to audit committees.

As part of the Inspection Team, you will have the opportunity to use your skills and experience in auditing to participate in the following:

  • Inspecting audit work papers to assess compliance with accounting and auditing standards in connection with the performance of audits;
  • Meeting and interviewing firm personnel to (1) understand the audit approach to audit engagements, and (2) identify audit deficiencies;
  • Gathering and organising information to support identified inspection issues;
  • Research and consultation on technical issues;
  • Preparing inspection reports; and
  • Communicating findings to firm personnel.
You will also be able to:
  • Enhance your technical skills through inspection activities and the ability to collaborate with highly skilled Inspection teams; and
  • Participate in the development and/or facilitation of training courses.

  • Recognised university degree and / or professional accounting qualification with a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a professional services environment;
  • Experience in audit or knowledge of the financial services industry will be an added advantage;
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing standards;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English;
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; and
  • Ability to travel (within Malaysia) for inspection activities.
