Teradata ETL Developer - Enterprise Datawarehouse (EDW)

  • Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, rectify and resolve Teradata scheduled daily/monthly jobs/sessions failures & related issues
  • Identify and resolving performance bottlenecks in various levels like source and target mappings.
  • Must be ready to work in a 24 X 7 operations/production support SLA based environment, with on-shift & on-call model, involving handling of critical tickets
  • Provide support to banking data warehouse applications and Datamarts.
  • Provide support on ETL/ELT architecture and design fundamentals including transformation techniques, error handling techniques, etc. huge value of data
  • Writing scripts to enhance the customer query and suggest for best plan
  • Ensuring complete adherence to SLAs of daily/monthly deliverables


Qualifications
  • Candidate should have domain knowledge in Financial/Banking domain.
  • Fluent in Teradata SQL programming. Able to debug existing SQL queries and load scripts. Strong in ANSI standard SQL and database indexing concepts
  • Experience in FS-LDM model with good understanding in transformation rules, B-MAP, B-Keys, reference data related specifications
  • Strong experience in Teradata SQL and Utilities like BTEQ, FASTLOAD, FASTEXPORT, MULTILOAD, TPump
  • Ability to write efficient SQL & exposure to query tuning.
  • Strong analytical skills. Should able to create QA scripts and perform QA checks.
  • Basic Unix/Linux shell script maintenance and hands-on experience of OS-command usage
  • Error handling with work tables (WT),Error Tables(ET),UV tables- (uniqueness violations table).
  • Expertise in analysis of different performance issues.
  • Should have worked any of the ETL tools like IBM Data stage/ODI
  • Ability to understand the data model ; Exposure to Enterprise-DW environment (Knowledge of ETL/ELT/BI Reporting)
  • Have experience in job scheduling tools preferably Control M.
  • 4+ experience as a Teradata developer
  • Strong in trouble shooting, root cause and problem analysis experience
  • Very good knowledge of Teradata 12 database (Hands on).
  • Very good exposure to Data warehouse concepts, Normalization and De-normalization concepts.
  • Experience in ETL methodology
  • Proficient in SQL and RDMBMS concepts, preferably with Teradata database
  • Has working knowledge in Unix/Unix scripting
  • Good Understanding of the complete SDLC process
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good writing & verbal communication skills using English as a language and should be able to express thoughts, technical-topics in clear & concise manner
