Manager Global Strategy
We're looking for an experienced Manager to join's Global Strategy team within the Strategy and Corporate Development unit. As Manager, Global Strategy you will be responsible for helping shape the future of, the leading global player in the $2 trillion online travel industry. You will be a leader on the team driving overall corporate strategy, identifying and solving key strategic questions for the organization, and partnering with specific business units and functions to address specific needs in the business. In this unique role you will be working on high-impact, challenging and cross-functional projects, with direct exposure to senior leadership.

The Global Strategy team is a relatively new team that supports the Leadership Team of with key strategic questions, by effectively breaking down the problem, executing independent analysis and delivering actionable recommendations (and implementation where needed). The Global Strategy team collaborates closely with the business units and other teams such as Finance, Corporate Development, Business Operations, Integrations and Internal Communications. Topics and projects can be driven by leadership or by the strategy team proactively. In solving such questions you will have a high degree of autonomy and will work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

This is a unique role where you will lead one to two projects in parallel with cross functional teams while supporting leadership to address the most challenging, high-impact questions and initiatives. Importantly, we are looking for someone who is excited about the opportunity to solve key strategic questions in a data-driven environment to enable to achieve our mission to empower people to experience the world .

  • Work collaboratively with business unit partners and corporate support teams to drive enterprise strategy development and partner on segment or functional strategy projects
  • Evaluate the performance of current business operations and recommend strategies and tactics to achieve business goals
  • Support and/or lead elements of the annual strategic planning process including linking the annual budgeting process with the long range strategic planning process
  • Prepare presentations for senior management
  • Types of analysis could be (but not limited to) Competitive market analysis; Financial & operational internal data analysis; Qualitative analysis based on interviews and desk research; Collaboration with data science and research teams
  • Leverage problem-solving frameworks to break down and structure complex issues; synthesize analysis into actionable key trends, implications, and/or recommendations
  • Communicate recommendations supported by a compelling storyline to key stakeholders to ensure impact and build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making with senior-level audiences
  • Recruit and develop key team members of the strategy team who will serve as a source of business talent for the broader organization
  • Contribute to the growth of the young but highly impactful team within in various ways (defining processes, sharing work, analysis etc).

  • At least 5-6 years experience at a top-tier management consultancy firm (including 1-2 years at Project Leader or Engagement Manager level) working on strategic, high-impact projects
  • Track record of success in leading cross-functional teams to develop strategies, including project scoping, hypotheses development, financial and business modeling, strategic options identification, consensus building, and implementation
  • Ability to understand and logically break-down problems, define hypotheses from the outset, and design high-quality analyses
  • Passion for people management and their development, generating great enthusiasm and drawing out the best in people
  • Capability to sanity-check and distil insights from analyses and drive high-impact, actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner
  • Strong presence and ability to listen, engage in a dialogue and influence senior stakeholders, and become a thought-partner, change agent across the organisation
  • True team mindset and works collaborative across all levels of the organisation
  • Capacity to structure, focus and drive work on what matters, creates maximum impact in a timely manner and with the right balance of delegation and control
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • An entrepreneurial and positive attitude and is a self-starter eager to drive value and take ownership
  • Creative and "out of the box" thinking that drives innovation
  • Knowledge of SQL and other data gathering and analysis techniques is a plus
  • Expertise in Travel & Tourism, e-commerce and technology is a plus
