Business Function

Group Finance Systems (GFS) team is a regional team set-up to own and support the finance applications used across the enterprise. This team supports the entire finance community by ensuring that the systems / processes / data held in these systems are accurate and timely. Finance has also embarked on a multi-million / multi-year transformation program to overhaul the existing system set-up and move towards a platform / data flows that supports the finance function in a close to real-time basis and in turn will significantly reduce time taken to close the monthly financial numbers.

GFS is looking for dynamic / result oriented finance professionals who are looking to build a career in the finance systems space.

The Role

  • Support and drive project initiatives and major enhancements for all markets in one of the applications in the finance systems – FRDM and the future Data Ledger (DL)
  • Work with the user community and drive the successful delivery of project and enhancement impacting FRDM / DL right from understanding the requirements, working with the technology team to convert the requirements to proper business specifications, supporting testing of the delivered product, facilitating implementation to production and documentation
  • Support initiatives for productivity and identify opportunities to improve accuracy of information – generated either internally or initiated by external users and progress them to closure
  • Ensure business design for all new requirements are standardized and in line with the organization’s data flow strategy
  • Manage the book of work with clear principles around prioritization of requirements
  • Manage initiatives, projects and implementations. Be the “Go-to” person for project planning and business decisions made in relation to the application design and system setups Ensure source systems changes are assessed and implementation timelines are managed
  • Manage and track budget and actual expenditure for approved changes for the application
  • Continuously evaluate current workflows and identify opportunities for improvement


  • Collate and manage all of the details regarding the application under his domain – information could span from details of systems interfacing, content of the various data being posted, data held within the application etc
  • Manage book of work with the Core Systems Technology teams – both in terms of prioritization and timing of the various changes
  • Ensure that the business solutions being implemented are thought through from a long term, standardization, design for no operations, front-end configuration perspective
  • Support user community on business queries and guidance on better usage of the system
  • Work with the Group Finance Architecture project to streamline usage of the data and also support transitioning of this application to the new platform under implementation


  • Accounting degree with a fundamental knowledge around banking products
  • 7 to 10 years of period experience of working in the financial services industry
  • Ability to work in a team consisting of stakeholders from different areas including user community from a requirements gathering and testing perspective, technology teams from a development, rollout perspective
  • Eye for detail and diligence in documentation
