Android Developer to Join Dynamic Platform Development Team

My client is an Australian start-up company established in Singapore in 2017. They help develop innovative software technologies for various business activities. Due to the urgency of the role, ONLY Singaporeans / SG PRs need apply.

As part of the engineering team (a mobile and web platform), you will be working closely together in an Agile environment to develop an Android MVP, communicating with the REST API, to deliver to our test teams and to service the Asia Pacific Region.
The suitable candidate will spearhead the Android development and working closely with the Solutions Architect and Marketing to ensure the application adheres to our design, best practices and encapsulates our brand.
You will be actively involved in the technology strategy meetings to discuss the product roadmap from MVP to our First Release and beyond. In addition, you will be working on other products and provide Android consulting to our sister's companies.

* Participate in the development process from definition, through design, build, test, release, and
* Develop high quality and re-usable Android code;
* Effectively communicate with the system design lead;
* Triage and escalate any issues blocking development;
* Track and monitor progress of tasks and proactively raise issues which may impact delivery;
* Manage own time to ensure quality and on time delivery;
* Adhere by good development practises; and
* App release management.

Key Skills
* At least 5 years of working experience in Android environment.
* Able to demonstrate a deep understanding of Android SDK's & frameworks;
* Strong native Android mobile app development skills (Java/Kotlin);
* Strong understanding of Android Studio and build configurations;
* Experience in application of software design patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM)
* Experience using crash reporting tools, location services and notification services;
* Experience integrating with JSON/RESTful APIs and back-end services;
* Experience with common third party libraries (Retrofit, ButterKnife, Dagger2)
* Strong understanding of version control and branching strategies (GIT);
* Has experience using tools such as or similar to JIRA, and Bitbucket;
* Experience in reactive programming technologies is a plus (RxJava, RxKotlin);
* An understanding of Play Store release process and experience with realising applications;
* Excellent presentation, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills;
* Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills;
* Experience working in an Agile environment;
* Has a strong understanding of app security, design principles, UI/UX, patterns and best practices.
* Able to collaborate with designers; and Implement UI and UX standards, specifically following the
material design guideline
* Candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team;
Desirable Skills
* Experience in iOS is an advantage. (Swift)
