Application support engineers oversee the installation and maintenance of software applications in order to streamline business operations. Their duties include optimizing software application performance, installing updates, and performing debugging procedures.
Role Summary:
An Application Support Engineer is responsible for transforming production operations by driving product fixes and improving operational efficiency.
Candidate must be highly motivated and be able to work under pressure.
They will be responsible to manage and resolve system alerts, complex user support tickets and production incidents.
They will be required to articulate functional and technical aspects of production issue and collaborate with Business or Engineering teams on efficient solutions or automations.
They will also help Business Users and Engineers by creating documentation and training them on applications and processes.
Requirements:
Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
4-6 years of Technical support or DevOps experience
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience in Incident and Problem management
Technical Competencies:
Experience with SQL (DB2/Sybase), Unix, Java, Autosys, Shell Script or Python
Experience in Financial services industry
Knowledge of version control and CI/CD tools like GIT, Jenkins etc.
Experience in working with enterprise scale applications
