CFO with a Growing Healthcare Group

  • Possess minimum 20 years of finance/ accounting experience including hands-on M&A/investment exp covering due diligence, negotiation, structuring, financing and settlement
  • Has recent M&A exp gained in India and China
  • Excellent interpersonal/stakeholder management skills are required to be able to build key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Our client is a healthcare group which invests and manages healthcare delivery assets in Asia Pacific and globally. The firm has a global presence with an expansion trajectory. It is now searching for an experienced yet hands-on CFO with investment and strategic development experience. This role will report to the CEO and manage a team.

 

Key job summary:

  • Overall responsible for the finance function of the Group including accounting, reporting, business planning and forecasting, tax, treasury, risk management and compliance.
  • Engage and support the Group’s M&A activities, including due diligence, negotiation, financing and settlement.
  • Strong business partner to the Group’s portfolio companies, driving performance and business planning. Ensure robust risk and governance system in place to ensure compliance with Group’s compliance policies. 
  • Oversees the legal, secretariat and other corporate matters
  • Develop finance capability within the Group

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for accounting, reporting, business planning, forecasting, tax, treasury, risk management and compliance.
  • Set up the finance operation in the firm including developing and implementing finance and compliance policies, processes and system.
  • Develop a performance management framework (reporting) for the Group with drill-down capability by business line, geography, assets, function.
  • Manage the Group’s long-term business and financial planning process and ensure capital allocation is aligned with the overall Group’s strategy. 
  • Translate Group’s strategy, goals, and initiatives into assumptions for annual operating/capital budgets. Develop and manage a multi-year forecast model to better manage the Group’s balance sheet and cash flows.
  • Work with external auditor, tax agent, legal counsel and 3rd party service providers to ensure timely and accurate filings and compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Engage and support the Group’s M&A activities, including due diligence, negotiation, financing and settlement.
  • Develop an efficient and flexible structure for the Group to ease funding and monetization.
  • Strong business partner to the Group’s portfolio companies, driving performance and business planning. Explore opportunities at the portfolio companies to increase revenue intensity, create new revenue streams and identify cost savings opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Ensure robust risk and governance system in place at portfolio companies to ensure compliance with Group’s compliance policies. Participate as Audit Committee member in portfolio companies where appropriate.
  • Oversees legal, secretariat and other corporate matters.
  • Develop finance capability within the Group to better retain and support growth.

 

The successful Applicant should possess the following requirements:

  • Has a Bachelor degree in Accounting, or Finance. Preferably CA/CPA qualified
  • Possess at least 20 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with min 10 years in a senior leadership role (ideally as CFO/ FD) in a reputable MNC.
  • Hands-on M&A/investment exp covering due diligence, negotiation, structuring, financing and settlement is required
  • Recent M&A exp gained in India and China markets is required
  • As the company is growing, the applicant has to be a self-starter who is also hands-on with the ability to thrive in a lean environment
  • Excellent interpersonal/stakeholder management skills are required to be able to build key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Is a good team player with successful track record in partnering with diverse stakeholders across different cultures.
  • Driven, proactive and hands-on with strong commercial acumen.
  • Industry exposure to healthcare is beneficial but really not a must.
  • Resourceful and collaborative
  • Energetic, motivated and highly independent
  • Open to some occasional travel
  • Has strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
