Who we're looking for

As the regional Digital Engagement Lead, you will focus on supporting the Head of Digital Engagement, APAC and the broader APAC Distribution teams in exploring digital propositions and partnerships, contributing to APAC Digital Distribution Strategy and Execution.

You will report into the Head of Digital Engagement, APAC. You must have a customer-first mind-set, a strong understanding of the client proposition journey and the ability to project manage the delivery of digital offerings that delight clients and provide the desired customer experience. An excellent commercial acumen, organizational, and communication skills will be essential as you'll be working with diverse stakeholders.

Schroders aims to be a leading asset manager in the use of digital and you will operate in markets where the innovative use of technology, appropriately applied according to channel is vital. Therefore, this role will work closely with regional and global teams in driving forward digital growth opportunities.

What you'll do
  • Conduct digital landscape research and opportunities analysis (such as digital banking, open banking, fintech and robo advisory trends) to explore, develop and assess priorities.
  • Identify problem statements of Distribution digital business and help formulate the design of digital propositions (namely digital wealth solutions, digital content delivery, digital servicing tools as well as other digital-related business initiatives as they evolve and deem commercially viable)
  • Help create business case of new digital propositions to submit for global or APAC funding approval (including estimation of implementation cost, projection of business benefits, development roadmap, project planning, risk and mitigation)
  • Lead and project manage end to end execution/implementation of agreed and assigned digital propositions/digital-related business initiatives. This includes leading business requirements discovery, solution design, feature development, user acceptance testing, internal cross-functional team review and client rollout
  • Prepare presentation materials articulating Schroders digital engagement capabilities in order to drive/enable internal know-how and assist client discussions
  • Assist to build a network of external relationships with financial intermediaries, fintechs, technology vendors, consultants and advisors, where applicable.
  • Create digital knowledge database and share with internal stakeholders (including but not limited to APAC Distribution) on above said external intelligence as well as internal digital initiatives as appropriate
  • Drive/assist development, rollout and maintenance of digital tools (e.g., AI Chatbot), scrutinize for commercial viability
  • Track business metrics, digital KPIs and driving digital client adoption of live digital propositions or tools
  • Help with digital distribution budget management (including budget request consolidation, budget allocation / breakdown and post-drawdown monitoring)
  • Closely work with internal stakeholders
    • assess Fintechs and tech partners' business models with IT team: identify, conduct due diligence, and help onboard tech delivery partners
    • follow through on scoping and diligence for new digital propositions, collaborating Marketing, Technology, Legal, Risk, Procurement, Distribution, Product from discovery (market testing, sales demo) to coordinating partner agreements and delivery
    • support execution of digital marketing initiatives e.g., content, data visualization, digital client profiling tools
    • participate and contribute to selected global forums as required such as Global Digital Strategy Working Group, and circle back feedbacks to APAC Head of Digital Engagement for good alignment of our digital initiatives globally
    • develop Target Operational Model (TOM) with IT and change teams for regional digital capabilities

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
  • 6 - 8 years of experience in digital product management, end to end digital delivery, sales or consulting equivalent on digital propositions
  • Driven, client-oriented with strong commercial business acumen
  • Excellent relationship management and diverse stakeholder engagement skills
  • Deep understanding of the digital landscape, markets, and trends
  • Strong understanding of digital strategy and technical concepts (such as APIs, cloud technologies and deployment approach)
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies (such as Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework - SAFe) and design thinking to be able to drive digital engagements and delivery with Schroders Global Technology
  • Comfortable facilitating and communicating using both business and technology terms
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Asset Management and or financial services experience is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in Digital Wealth or Robo Advisory preferred

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
  • Experience in B2C / Wealthtech / Superapps will be advantageous
  • South East Asia experience preferred but not essential
