First Gulf Bank (FGB) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) have merged, establishing the largest bank in the UAE with $183 billion in assets. NBAD opened its international representative office in Singapore in May 2007, and in August 2009 it was upgraded to a Wholesale Branch, offering a full suite of world class financial products and services. The Singapore Branch serves as the Bank’s regional office in Asia Pacific, providing financial services to both companies as well as financial institutions, and also seeks to leverage on the trade corridor spanning from Asia to the Middle East and Africa.

Role Purpose:

This role within the Finance team will provide support to multiple aspects of the Finance function reporting to the CFO/FC. The ideal candidate will be an all-rounder who is able to thrive in fast-changing environments.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the team with matters related to management reporting, budgeting and planning
  • Assist in matters related to month-end/year-end closing and financial audits
  • To assist with the processing of accounting entries
  • To perform necessary reconciliations to facilitate financial control in bank’s operations
  • Participate in cross functional projects and team initiatives to improve and streamline processes
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks when assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Degree or relevant professional qualification in Business, Banking, Accounting, Finance
  • Prior knowledge and work experience of 2-3 years in banking financial control function is preferred
  • Good understanding of accounting double entries
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Self-starter, meticulous, resourceful and independent
  • Active team player and able to handle work pressures
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver consistent results
  • Flexible and adaptable in dealing with changes
  • Able to thrive in ambiguity
  • Strives for excellence in the face of challenges
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills
  • Fresh graduates with good honors are welcome
