YOUR IMPACT
Would you like to utilize and build your accounting knowledge as a controller for the Investment and Lending segment of Goldman Sachs? We are looking for a team player with strong accounting knowledge and a passion in finance to support the Merchant Banking and Special Situations Group which primarily focus on the long term investment objectives of the firm.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
You will have direct experience to learn and understand the systems and processes within a leading global financial institution and to review investment transaction for compliance with financial and regulatory requirements. Financial control and reporting obligations of a global institution is complex, hence this is great opportunity to leverage your technical and interpersonal skills in such an environment. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in this department experience Goldman Sachs businesses, products and sophisticated technology systems in depth.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications

  • Maintenance of the firm investment entities' books and records.
  • Prepare financial reporting packages under applicable accounting standards (e.g. USGAAP and IFRS), tax requirements and other regulations.
  • Conduct reviews of transactions for accounting treatment, funding and control considerations across various asset classes.
  • A team player who can work effectively with the Business and other Federation teams, including Operations, Risk, Tax, Technology and Treasury.
  • Have a strong sense of control and ensure control standards are maintained and documented.
  • Qualified accountant preferred with working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the audit or finance field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong confident character, control mindset and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent PC skills and highly numerate.
  • Proven time management and organization skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
  • Willing to take on extra responsibilities.
