Head of Cash Equities Support APAC
The Apps Sup Sr Tech Specialist is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Responsibilities:
  • The Apps Support Senior Tech Specialist is responsible for providing expertise through comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within technology to achieve technology objectives and provide strategic direction to directly impact the business through strategic decisions for apps support.
  • Solves the highest impact, highest profile problems with significant impact through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes and industry standards.
  • Develops apps support methodologies and standards for application analysis and testing.
  • Consults with end users to identify system specifications and incorporates into overall system design.
  • Responsible for resource management and allocation of work; acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
  • Provides in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Finds ways to assess and improve the design of the existing programs, optimize performance and improve resiliency
  • Liaises with Quality Assurance Testers to ensure that product functionality meets expectations and with primary support staff to ensure the successful operation and functionality of components post-release.
  • Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:
  • 10+ years experience in an Apps Support role.
  • Subject matter expert in one or more areas of Apps Support.
  • Demonstrated social, positive, can-do attitude to quickly learn and take own initiative to deliver creative and productive solutions
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels and network / influence
  • Ability to work under stress & time constraints
  • Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team to develop solutions
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment


Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred


Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead the DevOps stream for the Cash Equities Production Management group in Asia. The group provides Technology Support for the Cash Equities systems and infrastructure during the Asia time zone across 11 markets.

The candidate will own for the production operations in the region. Partnering with the other groups of ICG, the candidate will drive and maintain consistent support service to business clients. The role will be responsible to ensure service delivery is in-line with the ICG Production Services objectives of platform stability, efficiency and operational effectiveness. Responsibilities will also include partnering closely with the application development to ensure collaboration around improvement of the operational fundamentals, application onboarding. As the group leader, the successful candidate is be expected to develop expert level domain knowledge quickly, interact with senior business executives with a high degree of confidence, and influence the delivery of the software that meets and exceeds the ICG Operational Standards.

The Candidate is expected to bring technical expertise around scripting (Python/Perl/Shell) & tool design. The Candidate must be able to work effectively across a diverse technology organization, possess excellent communication skills to keep partners and clients informed on technology issues.

A proven track record of delivering operational support or software development in global financial sector and knowledge of electronic trading, clearing and settlement systems and associated infrastructure support is desired.

A Proven track record of building and managing large and effective production services group is essential as the role will be responsible for regional hiring and talent strategy to support projected business growth in the next 24 months.

The candidate will collaborate with global support teams to ensure stakeholder expectations on service delivery for any regional aspects in ASIA are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Application Development/QA leads to drive platform stability improvements.
  • Own the management and control reporting in the region and represent the group in executive reporting councils and meetings for the Cash Equities business.
  • Active engagement with development and partner support teams to drive a culture of efficiency and operational excellence with focus on compliance of operational fundamentals.
  • Respond to technology events and incidents in a swift and effective manner and drives teams to resolve critical incidents while managing senior stakeholder and executive communications. Establish robust problem management practice to ensure open risks are addressed with mitigating controls and strategic fixes.
